Dr. Lawrence Feingold's new book, Touched by Christ: The Sacramental Economy available on Emmaus Academic Press, is a masterwork explaining the mysteries of the sacramental economy.
Today we discuss why we need the sacraments, and how the sacraments are able to bestow God's grace to us.
In our Patreon extra segment, (available to everyone this week) we discussed the 2020 Responsum by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith ruling that the formula "We Baptize" was not merely illicit, but also invalid. Since that time there have been at least a few instances of priests and deacons who used this form exclusively for decades and at least one instance of a young Priest having to validly receive his baptism and other sacraments when it was determined that he had been invalidly baptized as an infant.
Many of the lay faithful were left wondering, "Does a pronoun really make that much of a difference?" Dr. Feingold explains.
